Feng made the comments after Huawang Automotive Technology (Guangzhou) Co. Ltd., a RMB 1.5 billion subsidiary of GAC, was established on March 18 to proceed with its planned collaboration with the technology giant, according to Chinese business intelligence platform Tianyancha. Addtionally, the two companies unveiled plans earlier this month to sell vehicles under GAC’s Xiangwang lineup with a Level 3 semi-autonomous driving system later this year. The first model of the Xiangwang family, the S7 sports utility vehicle, was officially launched on March 30 starting at RMB 169,800, which was RMB 40,000 cheaper than the pre-sale price.
