Xpeng Motors has told suppliers it is Moans of a Blossomed Sister in lawstepping up production plans for its first electric vehicle model under the budget brand MONA, calling for support to ensure supply chain security after witnessing a significant upswing in order volume for the M03 sedan. That’s according to a letter first revealed by Sun Shaojun, founder of consumer behavior research agency CarFans, on the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo on Tuesday, and later confirmed by Xpeng. “The MONA M03 has recently reached over 2,000 orders per day after we received more than 30,000 nonrefundable orders in 48 hours since it was released. We are adjusting our production plan in line with that and sincerely hope partners will keep up with the pace for the sake of capacity increase and timely delivery,” said the Chinese electric vehicle maker in the letter. The M03 sedan went on sale on Aug. 27 at a price range between RMB 119,800 and RMB 155,800 ($16,808-$21,859), with the top-end version featuring an assisted driving system similar to Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) software, according to the company.[TechNode reporting, Sun Shaojun, in Chinese]
